Trained Dogs

The proprietor has in excess of 25 years’ experience in breeding and training border collies and has successfully placed many trained goose dogs throughout Canada and the U.S.

All our dogs and handlers are trained to a high specification so they are able to work in a controlled environment. All employees are required to complete and pass our handler’s course which is held at our own purpose built training facility.

We only use our own purpose bred and trained Border Collies. Only the best dogs make it onto the Border Control team.

We do not simply purchase dogs from an outside source.

Our specially trained dogs and experienced handlers will move the geese from the location with minimal impact to the site visually, audibly and without leaving an environmental foot print. The geese see the dogs as a natural predator.

Laser

Border Control Bird Dogs uses green laser which has been proved to be more effective than red laser. The laser is a silent method that deters the geese from the water and inaccessible areas. It is most effective during low light and at night. A permit is not required for this service

Pyrotechnics

Pyrotechnics can also be used. Border Control Bird Dogs use a double shot launcher enabling us to fire two different pyrotechnics at once without reloading.

Pyrotechnics used include pyro cracker shells, pyro howl shells and pyro bangers.
